Bandspeed provides the technology behind wireless local area network solutions that deliver standards-based, ultra high performance for users in high-density environments such as enterprises, campuses, hot spots, and wireless service provider networks. Bandspeed also has patents for fundamental technology of Bluetooth. Co-investors include Centerpoint Ventures, MSD Capital and Cisco Systems. Bandspeed is located in Austin, Texas. All of the operating assets of Bandspeed were purchased by Broadcom (BRCM).
CYGNAL integrates precision analog plus high performance digital circuits to produce field programmable, mixed-signal systems-on-chips aimed at a wide range of data acquisition and embedded control applications. The products can be easily adapted to specific tasks over a broad spectrum of applications. The Company has developed a series of program- mable, precision mixed signal controllers aimed at data acquisition and embedded control applications. Co-investors include Austin Ventures, Bank of America Venture Partners, and Alliance Technology Ventures. Cygnal is located in Austin, Texas. Cygnal was purchased by Silicon Labs (SLAB).

 

 

Stream Machine is a supplier of semiconductor products and reference designs to consumer-electronic manufacturers for digital media consumer products. Their proprietary semiconductor solutions for OEMs enable affordable, high quality digital audio and video products for consumer, PC and Internet applications. Their semiconductor's hybrid architecture allows for cost-effective pricing, low total system cost and the lowest power consumption of any compression/decompression ("codec") chip available for MPEG applications. Stream Machine was acquired by Cirrus Logic December 2001, a top ten acquistion of that quarter.

 

Britestream is building a new class of network security semiconductors to enable universal, transparent, robust Internet security. Co-investors include Austin Ventures and Granite Ventures. Britestream is located in Austin, Texas

 

NetEffect is focused on increasing the scalability, reliability, and time-to-market of networking, storage and server system manufacturer's products by providing flexible, interoperable, high performance semiconductors. Co-investors include Austin Ventures, Infinity Capital, Trinity Ventures, and Intel Capital. NetEffect is located in Austin, Texas.
Ubicom provides a brand-new class of wireless network processor and software platforms designed to enable ubiquitous communications by making it easy for makers of electronic devices to add wireless networking connectivity to any product — from access-points, bridges and routers, to LCD projectors, cameras and printers. Co-investors include August Capital, Mayfield, Levenshon Venture Partners and Walden International. Ubicom is located in Mountain View, California.
